Initially a fisherman, Ali began creating art with Daniela Bateleur in 2008. Their growing workshop in Lamu supports local creativity. Along with paintings, they make bags, bedspreads, clothes and furniture, often using reclaimed materials from land and sea, carrying a message of mindfulness.
