Adele Dejak has been a virtual friend with Sarah since her brand, Tongoro was founded. For those who don’t know, Sarah Diouf is the Founder and CEO of Tongoro.
While in South Africa for Sanlam Fair, Adele Dejak got a chance to meet Sarah Diouf in person. What immediately captured Adele’s attention in Tongoro dresses is that her collection is not only contemporary but also captures the spirit and essence of Adele’s African Renaissance.
The dresses are hand made in Senegal and they cater to all women as they sophisticated and have bold patterns. After Adele and Sarah met, they immediately bonded and decided to collaborate on an exclusive collection for Adele Dejak, termed ‘Not So Little Black Dress’ giving the ‘Little Black Dress’ a new concept.
Both Adele and Sarah – fashion designers with analogous tastes – share the same aesthetics, and once the designs, patterns and fabric were agreed upon, the process was straightforward.
Later, Adele traveled to Dakar, Senegal where she met Sarah who was kind enough to take her round to various fabric markets. Adele came back to Kenya with the new collection, which was launched at our Village Market Store on 21st December 2017.
The collection consists of resort wear dresses for a fashion designer who is stylish, likes to travel, dress comfortably, and make a statement not forgetting that the dresses compliment Adele’s jewellery, when worn together.
