Unveiling African Fashion: African Fashion and design Takes Denver by Storm with a Fashion Extravaganza.

Denver, June 2023 - Step into the world of African fashion, where vibrant colors, bold patterns, and rich cultural heritage collide. Thanks to the trailblazing efforts of Koya Nyangi, founder and owner of Let Me Show You Different, Denver is now a hub for the continent's finest designers.

With a passion for showcasing the incredible talent back home, Koya set out to bridge the gap and put African designers firmly in the spotlight. The journey began with a groundbreaking event a shop-and-sip soirée in 2021 featuring none other than Adele Dejak. This event back in 2021 acted as a tantalizing teaser, leaving attendees craving more of the mesmerizing fusion of traditional African aesthetics and contemporary design.

Set to captivate the audience at ReelWorks, Denver's premier venue for cultural gatherings in June 2023, Let me show you different began the month with a  fashion event featuring designers from Africa including Adele dejak, Sevaria, Kiko Romeo, The Label Saba, Margaux Wong and Laaniraani.

With this remarkable event that will ignite a fashion revolution in Denver and beyond, inspiring individuals to embrace the diversity and innovation that emanate from African designers. From daring accessories to striking garments, each piece tells a story, weaving together threads of tradition, sustainability, and empowerment.

During the duration of the event Adele had the opportunity to give a talk at the Denver Museum on sustainability a major topic she is very passionate about and got to share her thoughts on it.

Adele Dejak incorporates sustainable materials and techniques to create stunning pieces that are both beautiful and environmentally conscious. She embraces the concept of upcycling, often using recycled materials such as brass, aluminum, and reclaimed cow horn in her designs. By repurposing these materials, she not only reduces waste but also gives them a new life and purpose.

By championing sustainability, Adele Dejak sets an example for the fashion industry, showing that it's possible to create stunning, high-quality pieces while being mindful of our planet and its resources. Her dedication to eco-friendly practices serves as a reminder that fashion can be both stylish and sustainable, and that we all have a role to play in shaping a more environmentally friendly future.

Koya organized a successful pop up during the show that was not only a huge success but also an interaction platform for the designers and the audience.

We are also currently stocked in the Denver Museum gift shop.
